We are excited to announce that the game is in a stable enough state to open the playtest/alpha to the public!
Be sure to join the Fret Smasher Discord server to interact with the community, talk to the developers, drop your feature ideas, and to report bugs!
What Major Features Are Included In The Alpha?

- Steam Workshop Support (Charts, Themes, Careers, Highways and Backgrounds)
- Leaderboards
- Custom Chart Support (.chart and .mid formats)
The alpha does not include Online, Drums, or Quickplay (different from Classic, it will have a different score system). These features will be added as development continues.
What To Expect?
New players should expect a fairly well presented game that’s still in active development. Bugs are expected but should be minimal. The game is also more challenging than most rhythm games in the same genre and will require players to adapt and learn the new tighter hit engine (however more casual play options are being considered). If you have questions, encounter any bugs, or have ideas for what to add to the game, please feel free to share on the steam discussion board or in our Discord server!
